AirBeam for Mac is out !

We are proud to announce the release of AirBeam for Mac, the desktop counterpart to our high quality iOS based video surveillance solution. AirBeam for iOS is an universal app for iPhone, iPod and iPad and streams live camera video in high resolution and with up to 30 frames per second between iPhones, iPods and iPads.

AirBeam for Mac now turns also the desktop into a powerful video monitoring center with countless applications: From serious video surveillance and screencasting over a video babyphone up to using iDevices as a first person view onboard camera in remote control toys.

AirBeam for Mac supports all the features known from the iOS application like for example video recording and motion detection. On top of that it supports viewing multiple cameras in parallel and makes use of latest MacOS Lion technologies – like flicking through fullscreen views of multiple cameras. The great news for all AirBeam users on iOS: AirBeam for Mac is available in the Mac App Store for free.

AirBeam 1.2 is out !

We are proud to announce the release of AirBeam 1.2, a major feature update to our high quality iOS video monitoring solution. AirBeam is an universal app for iPhone, iPod and iPad and streams high resolution video in realtime with up to 30 frames per second between multiple iDevices. With AirBeam each device can be used either as a surveillance camera or as a remote monitor. AirBeam can run simultaneously on any number of devices, supporting flexible multi-camera and multi-monitor configurations.

Just one month after previous release, AirBeam 1.2 introduces numerous new features:

  • Motion detection to automatically trigger video recordings.
    This can be used to create a compact single video track which contains only the relevant events taking place during a monitoring session. Additionally the motion detection can trigger visual and acoustic alarms on the remote monitor.
  • Monitoring via a cellular connection.
    Now monitor devices can connect to camera devices not only via WiFi, but also via a 3G cellular connection. Take a look what happens at your home from anywhere.
  • Support for an iPhone 3G as camera device – as wished by many of our customers still having a spare one of these.

AirBeam 1.1 released

With AirBeam each device can be used either as a surveillance camera or as a remote monitor. AirBeam can run simultaneously on any number of devices, enabling flexible multi-camera and multi-monitor configurations.

With AirBeam 1.0 released just a month ago, AirBeam 1.1 introduces numerous new features:

  • Adaptive video encoding now continuously measures the quality of the WiFi connection and dynamically adapts the bitrate of the video stream. The result is a tremendous improvement of video quality and framerate.
  • Password protection allows to protect camera devices with a password to prevent unauthorized access in open WiFi environments.
  • Adjustable video buffering further smoothens video playback and allows adjustable latency for e.g. audio lipsync.
  • Screen off on camera devices reduces battery consumption and allows longer run times.
  • Mac readiness makes AirBeam ready for monitoring on MacOS computers. The MacOS app is currently in beta state and will be released on the Mac AppStore soon.

AirBeam turns iPhone, iPod and iPad into high-quality, realtime video surveillance system

April 29,2011 – Independent iOS development studio Appologics announced that their high quality realtime video surveillance software AirBeam is now available at the Apple AppStore.
The universal app for iPhone, iPod and iPad streams high quality video at resolutions of up to 640×480 pixel and with up to 30 frames per second between multiple iDevices on a WiFi network.
Efficient realtime video encoding technology reduces the delay between camera and monitor devices to a minimum.
AirBeam’s possible applications are countless: From serious video surveillance over a video babyphone up to using iPhone/iPod as a first person view onboard camera in remote control toys.
AirBeam can run simultaneously on any number of devices, enabling flexible multi-camera and multi-monitor configurations. Multiple cameras can be followed on a single monitor device and a single camera can be streamed to multiple monitor devices at the same time.

AirBeam also supports high quality video recording and remote access to the recorded videos via a browser.

Special attention was also payed to usability. AirBeam devices on a network discover each other automatically, completely eliminating the need for any manual configuration.

Finally AirBeam is available on the AppStore. Thanks to Apple for approving it in record time. It took them less than a week from submission to approval and release.
